A Simple Thank You Goes a Long Way...

Here is a simple idea to show your sponsors a meaningful thank you that will not cost you a dime.

I recently had a heartwarming experience that I want to share with all of you, as it emphasizes the power of gratitude and appreciation in our roles as volunteers.

Yesterday, I was busy tying up loose ends for the year on behalf of a local Little League in Pennsylvania. While going through some old records, I stumbled upon pictures of a scoreboard sponsorship I had initiated several years ago. It brought back memories of how that initial sponsorship paved the way for the sponsor to support many other leagues in our area. Whenever I bump into this sponsor in town, they never fail to express their delight at having their brand showcased at the park throughout the year.

Inspired by these recollections, I decided to send this sponsor a simple thank-you text for their continuous support of our community. It was just a brief message, expressing my gratitude for the financial backing that had enabled us to enhance our park's facilities over the years.

To my astonishment, this busy sponsor responded with a heartwarming message, expressing their appreciation for my message and sharing that it had made their day. This unexpected response gave me pause and reminded me of the profound impact we can have as volunteers. Sometimes, we may feel hesitant to reach out to our sponsors, fearing that we are imposing on their busy lives. However, my experience taught me that expressing gratitude and acknowledging their support can be genuinely rewarding for both parties.

And now, for the valuable insight, I'd like to share with all of you...

Consider taking a moment to send a simple thank-you text to the top few sponsors of your organization. It's a small gesture that can go a long way in strengthening your relationships with sponsors and reminding them of the positive impact they have on your community.

As we approach the end of 2023, let's also take some time to unwind and reflect on why we dedicate ourselves to serving our communities as volunteers in the first place. Spend quality time with your loved ones, and contemplate the achievements you've accomplished in your volunteer role.

I'd like to express my gratitude to all of you who have been supportive, whether by simply opening my emails or being part of our community. I'm thankful for the organizations that have invited me to guide conversations about fundraising during their board meetings, and for the communities that have welcomed me as I work side-by-side with them to enhance their sponsorship programs.

Wishing you all a peaceful end to the year, and looking forward to continuing our shared journey in service to our communities in the coming year.
